Over the rainbow

...BLUE BIRDS FLY
These designs pay tribute to Isaac Newton, who in the 1660s and 1670s developed the foundations of the Color Theory. Through experiments with a prism, Newton demonstrated that white light is composed of the visible spectrum, identifying seven distinct colours—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. He later arranged them into the first colour wheel, linking colour to musical and mathematical harmony.
His discoveries continue to shape artistic practice today. Few artists have not encountered his work, and his legacy has inspired fields that explore the relationship between colour, perception, and emotion—from colour psychology to colour therapy and art therapy—each continuing to expand our understanding of light and colour in everyday life.
